2108 State, 2108 State Street: June 2015 2 comments
This secluded Cayce spot has featured here before (albeit apparent
ly with the wrong street address) and 2108 State carried on with the Lizard Man tradition.
I'll admit this corner is so far off my radar that it never even crossed my mind to stop here when I wasn't in direct visual c
ontact with the place, but apparently it was pretty good. There Facebook page i
s still up for now, and if you should want to buy the building, LoopNet has you covered.

UPDATE 12 April 2017 -- As reported, now a Henry's:

Signage going up on this location indicating it's going to be another "Henry's". I'm assuming it's affiliated with the other two around town, and they have some of the best cheese fries in town (or anywhere, for that matter!).

Seems like a very nice building, plenty of room for parking.
Someone spent a great deal of time on the murals.
I can only imagine the interior is just as nice.
But, what's a shame is the location. I rarely venture to that area of town and can only imagine this was a local joint, if you will, that probably only got customers that lived within a two to three mile radius.
The problem with places like this is, unless the owners do extensive advertising, no one knows about it unless by word of mouth. It is hard for me to stop in an "out of the way" bar if I do not know anyone else that goes there. Kind of like deciding to visit a church on the other side of town, or a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get.
Now, when I was in my early twenties I would have stopped in if I had been on a bar hop and seen it on the way somewhere.

This was a place i always meant to go try.....
I read someplace (i dont remember where) that their Saturday brunch was really good.
On the Facebook page the owner posted something that seems to imply the restaurant closed for reasons beyond his control. So maybe it will be back someday....

Man, talk about being in the boonies!! I don't ever recall being that far down State St. I know I have never been around the train yard. It does look like a nice club though. I especially like the deck.

They did a fair amount of business from SCANA, whose headquarters is not too far away. If you're stuck out in the boonies like the SCANA folk, it's one of the closest options, but apparently not enough to keep it in business.

I'm thinking this would be a great place to open a tuna salad restaurant.

I ate there twice with a weekly group of friends. The food was pretty decent. Unfortunately, Geoff missed a chapter or two in the 'Customer is always right' book. His waitress got upset with us because we questioned the pricing on previously available orders. After a very tense moment when he confronted us and almost had us leave his premises, for dare upsetting his waitress, we ordered but swore to each other never to return to his place. He lost a good deal of business by bad word of mouth and that a few of the group ate there frequently. The business location plus his LOUSY attitude is what caused his business to fail. Maybe the governer has his old spot available for him.
