What can I say? A thousand years from now, people will know This man's name when everyone else from our era is forgotten.

  1. Two Little known facts about Armstrong:

    He was the first Eagle Scout on the moon. (which makes his death ironic since this month marks the centennial of the awarding of the first Eagle Scout badge.)

    His quick thinking on the Gemini 8 mission saved his life and his crewmate's life.

  3. I watched Armstrong walk on the moon on 7/21/69 on a 25" (huge at the time) black & white tv in the big open air ping pong shelter at old Camp Barstow in Gaston, along with about 300 other Boy Scouts. Great moment for all of us.
