Conquest Brewing Company, 947 South Stadium Road: 31 August 2019 4 comments
I was not really aware of Conquest Brewing until commenter Jimmy Freeman linked their Facebook farewell in Have Your Say.
The Free Times has a bit more information such as that the place was "Columbia’s first post-production brewery since prohibition" and that Saturday was their final day.

Strongly disagree on them making “great beers.” They have been wildly inconsistent since they started. Your flagship beer (for them it was Sacred Heart) should always taste the same no matter what. Columbia Craft vs Conquest is simply night and day when it comes to quality.

Yeah, I agree with Ken. I have some legitimately great beers from Conquest, but there was no consistency, and they were inevitably over taken by others doing it better (River Rat, Columbia Craft, Steel Hands).

The couple times I went in, service was way too slow. Their beers always tasted watery to me.

In the end I think location is what did them in. They made great beers (especially their Medusa Stout) and they had a good, friendly staff.
It also did not help that they could not sell food until a year or so ago when the state laws were changed.
