One of the very first closings I did was for Wendy's on Two Notch in Dentsville.

Now the other Two Notch Wendy's, out past Spring Valley by the Brickyard Shopping Center site has closed as well.

The place seems reasonably easy to get in and out of, there's even stoplight access, but I note that the adjacent former Quizno's has never been replaced by anything so perhaps I'm missing something about the spot.

I wonder if Nick's needs another location?

UPDATE 17 May 2016 -- As mentioned in the comments, this building is about to open as a Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen:

  1. Strange they don't mention the 2 locations on Clemson Road (Sparkleberry and Hardscrabble).
Must be a different franschise holder.

  2. Odd, this was the rare Wendy's where you got the impression that most of the employees had been on the job longer than two days. There is access to the red light, but it's not immediately obvious, and most everyone I noticed just tried to Frogger their way across Two Notch to head south instead of grabbing the light.

  3. Not only does it omit the Clemson Road locations (100 Newland Road & 2120 Clemson Road) ken holler mentioned, but to get to the two Garners Ferry locations they did mention, the easiest way to get there would be to jump on I-77 South until you exit at Garners Ferry Road. On the way you pass the Forest Drive exit which has a Wendy's as well.

I rarely thought to eat at this Wendy's the times I was out in that section of town. The Newland Road one would be the one I'd gravitate towards I think as it has the Freestyle and I'm the type that likes a self-serve beverage bar and Wendy's has shyed away from self-serve beverage bars which had me hesitant to eat at one...

Be that as it may, both Garners Ferry locations now have the Freestyle but the 2120 Clemson Road & 5403 Forest Drive Wendy's currently don't...

I can't think of any eating establishment I set foot in enough to notice the same crew and part of it is that my dad likes to point out that most of these places do see regular turnover.

  4. Personally, I am about to give up on Wendy's. Impossible to get a burger that is more than lukewarm in any of them.
The one on Clemson, near Hardscrabble is re-doing it's interior. Maybe it will be "nice" when it is done. (and maybe it will add the freestyle drink station.)

  5. The Wendy's on Clemson Road near Hard Scrabble Road is owned by Alex English, the former Gamecock and NBA Hall of Fame player. He also owns the Wendy's on Blythewood Road, and he might own other locations.

  6. Funny to mention Alex English, i've met him in person a few years back, he owned the Wendy's on 2120 clemson rd, but that location was sold to "Wendcolumbia realty llc" on 2/25/14, the public property records never does list Alex English as a previous owner, the Wendy's on clemson rd was built in 1997. also its sad this wendys (10002 two notch) has closed, been there many of times.
