Commenter Dennis passed on a reference to this Richland County/Chicora Foundation project that seems especially apropos to today. If you've run across an old graveyard on a hike sometime, you might want to let them know.

  1. What we know as Halloween here in the US in Latin America is known as día de los muertos (or Day of the dead) and it's a national holiday in Mexico in which people do things to remember their deceased relatives...it's celebrated in the remainder of Latin America as well, but nowhere are such celebrations more prominent than Mexico..

Our Halloween translates to día de las brujas which translates to Day of the witches...

  2. Given the bonehead moves and questionable decisions Richland County has made over the last 15-20 years, I'd be loathe to tell them anything, lest they usurp the landowner's rights.
