Lexus of Columbia, 5717 Two Notch Road: Summer 2011 (moved) 8 comments
This building on Two Notch not far from Fontaine is nothing special, but I do like the lights for some reason. Anyway, here's yet another car dealership moving out to Blythewood. It's a trend I really don't understand. I could see opening new dealerships out there, but the Forest Acres area is still reasonably well-to-do, and people here still need cars.. I suppose this is just a personal gripe as I miss taking my car to Dick Dyer on Two Notch and being able to walk home if need be.
In this case, there appears to be a name change (to Jim Hudson Lexus) as well as a move.

That entire area from the intersection of Beltline and Two Notch has really gone downhill since the late 60's. It aint what it used to be due to too many trouble makers and others there now. Places change over the years and this area is no exception. I personally think the best years over there were from the early to mid 60's..maybe the very late 60's, but after that, it went downhill. Two Notch has quite the reputation from it's "Red Light" days in the 70's.

I don't think where this shop moved is quite Blythewood but it still Northeast Richland...Walmart #4506 (321 Killian Road) is across the street from where the new Lexus dealership is and it has a Columbia address

Within the last month, I saw a car with markings for Rick Hendrick Honda, was reminded of the jingle ♫ The Honda difference is in us; Columbia; Rick Hendrick Honda ♫ and find myself wondering where Rick Hendrick Honda used to be...I have a sneaking suspicion that it was somewhere to this site but wonder if anyone else could enlighten me because I've been trying figure this one out in recent weeks...

Rick Hendrick Honda was on Airport BLVD. I bought my 1989 Civic Si brand new there. Wish I still had that car.

Forest Acres may still be relatively well to do, but that area of Two Notch definitely isn't. I would imagine there was a good deal of theft and vandalism, but couldn't swear to it.
