Lemonade in the Shade, In the Sun Ocean Spray.. 11 comments
Well, it's that time of year again! I've lined up my house-sitters and got my car packed. I'll be in and out of town over the next month or so and don't expect to make any relevant posts during that time (though I may weigh in with a few random words and pictures). I will be logging in every day or so to trim the spam comments and perhaps respond to the other ones.
Feel free to use this post as an "open thread" to discuss any ongoing closings or news (of course you can use Have Your Say too).
I also hope to have at least a few days of downtime during which I can upgrade the WordPress blogging software I'm using to the current version. That will let me run a better spam filter as well as some other features I've wanted to add for a while.

Ted, Nye's Pharmacy in Conway is closed. It's a cool old building, glass panel walls that slope out at the top. Just got back from the beach myself and saw it as I was heading through traffic. Heading through Conway from the beach, it would be on your right, probably midway through the town.

Ok folks it has just come to my attention earlier in the weekend that the Picadilly Cafeteria at Columbia Place Mall has closed up

@Mike the one you linked was at Dutch Square Center last summer...sadly it now appears that the Columbia Place Mall location has followed suit. One of my mom's colleagues has a son worked there and now is among those out of a job

The Sandy's on Knox Abbott closed sometime this week. I know it was open last Saturday.
Note on the door said they just found out last month they would have to leave after being there since 1987. Apparently, that entire strip mal is being sold/leased to a Chinese language immersion school. Sandy's said they are desperately trying to find a new building in the area (old taco Bell across the parking lot, perhaps?). Yesterday was a sad day for tonkatoy.
