Wilson Upholstery, 2428 Main Street: Circa 2016 3 comments
As far as I can tell from Google StreetView, this old-school auto upholstery operation was here, with its original building ad detailing from 1956 up until around 2016. At that time it was taken over by Studio 2LR,
a boutique architecture and interior design firm
who elected to keep the vintage paint-job, though they have apparently added some neat robitechture on the back side of the building.

@Justin. Until the 1980s, there were several new and used car dealerships on Main Street from Richland St. to Confederate Avenue. This place may have ben contracted by some of those dealerships to take car of car upholsteries issues.

There is pretty much nothing I can find online about this place, so the closing date is just a guess based on when the current tenants hung up their sign.

I've always wanted to learn more about this business because of the lettering/advertisements on it. We moved into the neighborhood nearby in 2010 and I'm pretty sure the business was not open at that point. Indeed, it seemed long abandoned.
