GameStop, 6080 Garners Ferry Road Suite B: January 2026 4 comments
This former Game Crazy switched over to Gamestop in 2010, and now with the latest wave of closings for that chain stands vacant.
WLTX reports that Gamestop plans to close more than 470 stores this year which honestly seems like that won't leave many, if any. I'm not a gamer, but I have to say that after spending hours trying to set up an Xbox for a gift Christmas a year ago, the idea of a store where you can go and just buy stuff rather than futzing around with downloading and accounts seems very appealing.

I can attest to the comments above. I was a sales rep who covered this store when it was GameCrazy and when it was a GameStop.
The idea of downloading games definitely caused the concept of a physical store for physical content to be outdated. However, I prefer the physical.
This was one of the better stores on my route but it definitely had changed over a lot since the early 2010s

Is Blossom Buffet in West Cola closing? I drove by today and saw the windows were all taped up with paper.

The Salvation Army store on Millwood Ave is temporarily shut down by the Fire Department for some reason.

Repeating part of my comment from another page about a GameStop closing:
My spouse was a manager at GameStop in the 2010s. A major problem was that too many employees think GameStop is a fun job where you get to play games all day. They don't think about inventory, customer service skills, and "the business side of things".
Even when hard-working, dependable people *are* hired, GameStop rarely gives the managers enough budget to schedule them for a decent amount of work hours, forcing many of the better employees to look for other jobs.
