Travelodge Columbia West / Quality Inn & Suites, 2210 Bush River Road (Reflagged): 2024 5 comments
Commenter Tom mentioned that this hotel on Bush River Road at I-26 behind Cracker Barrel had a blank nameplate on the Market Pointe marquee. He thought it had been a Travelodge, and that looks correct, but that was some years ago. Most recently it was a Quality Inn & Suites. I can see from Google Streetview that that lasted at least into June 2023, so I'm guessing the latest reflagging was this year, and the place is now operating as Suburban Studios.

The Post and Courier is reporting that Lexington County has bought the motel and is turning it into a homeless shelter. They are getting $2.2 million from the federal government to make it "St. Andrews Village which will house 31 families in apartments according to the article. Plans are to start renovating it in early 2025. The overall cost is expected to be $8 million with funding coming from other federal and private sources.

I guess Dept of Revenue will be upgrading their security service.
I feel bad for all the smaller businesses that are in the area behind Burger King.Matt

This motel was a Red Roof Inn for years before it was a Travelodge.
