This old-school hardware store on Broad River Road between Bush River & Greystone, has started its final closing sale.

I think it's interesting how this one fairly small strip has three totally different facade styles. I like this one the best; the ziz-zag roof-line puts me in the mind of the 60s.

  1. The whole building was originally a Red & White grocery store and it did date from the 1960s. The zig-zag awning covered the entire front of the building until the right half was covered up in the 1980.

  2. I remember this being the Red & White grocery store back in the 60's when we moved over to the St. Andrews area back in 1968 before Dutch Square Mall was even thought of being built..

  3. I go to this TruValue pretty frequently for minor home repair needs. It's easier to get in and out of than Home Depot and closer. I spoke to the staff when I saw the closing signs. They said the owner is partially retiring in that he's closing this store but keeping the Lexington location, as it's more profitable. This location has been in business for over 40 years.
