Eckerd Drugs / Rite Aid / Walgreens, 5900 North Main Street: 11 June 2020 8 comments
This Walgreen's was originally an Eckerd's and then a Rite Aid, as you can see from the design of the building. It sits on an oddly shapped lot at the intersection of North Main & Colonial, and was the only drug store in the general vicinity.
Here is a story from The State about the closing, and how the neighborhood was very unhappy about it. Here's more from WLTX

^^ Don't forget the 2018 Rite aid to Walgreens transition whereby Columbia area Rite Aids either closed or became Walgreens...

As a former assistant manager/service assistant for Eckerd twenty years ago, I can confirm what Tom said above. It would either be this store or Columbia Mall they’d be sent to.

Someone who used to work for Eckerd's once told that their DM would punish managers my making them work in this store.
