Aldi, 5182 Sunset Boulevard: 30 May 2017 (temporary) 5 comments
As the store on Saint Andrews Road did earlier, the new-ish Aldi in Lexington has closed for a complete remodel. The signs say that they are slated to be back on 29 June 2017. That may be pusing it: That's less than 15 days away, and the store appears completely gutted now.
Looking back, the old Bike To Nature building was still here in August of 2013, and construction of this store still had not started in February of 2014, so they are doing a complete upfit after being open less than three years..

Aldi (in general) is undergoing a gargantuan remodeling blitz that includes (according to an article in The State I read a few weeks back) that includes upgrades to every store to feature more eco-friendly products, LED lighting and other upgrades to the product offerings...this store might only be 3 years old but it's undergoing the same thing just about every Aldi in the US will in the months ahead (unless it already has)...

While it never featured here, I know for sure that the Aldi at US1 and Methodist Park Road in West Columbia underwent a similar remodel and The State was mentioning the one in Sumter was wrapping up their remodel and I'd be willing to bet that the ones on Garners Ferry & Longgreen Parkway are going to get it in due course

I wonder if they are renovating because Lidl is building across the street (where the care dealership is being demolished). That area of Lexington is becoming grocery store row.
