Golden City Buffet, 9221 Two Notch Road: Mid February 2013 7 comments
This Chinese buffet next to Big Lots on Two Notch had been a fixture for many years, and I expected that it would be for many more. I can't think of anything that changed in the area recently, but in the event, apparently not.

This location had a brief run as a sports bar called "Hampton's" around 1999.

It used to be one the better Chinese places in town. But last time I ate there it had gone WAY downhill. Not surprised it's gone.

I forgot about Hampton's. I went there a couple of times. Obviously, I wasn't too impressed since I didn't even remember it......

We used to go here all the time, but then they started cutting corners and taking stuff off the menu that had been there ever since they opened and it just wasn't the same. It went downhill from there. The last time we went, I told my girls this was the last time I was darkening their doorsteps. Soooo disappointed.

I'm not certain which one of those store fronts it was because I was really small but there was a Godfather's Pizza in one of them and on the far end where the paint store is was a Mexican restaurant called Tez's.

Yes, I remember Tez's -- I think it is the only Mexican place I've been in that didn't give you free chips and salsa.

Man - this is a shock to me. This place used to be a Blue Cross lunch institution. I figured they would keep them in business for years!!!!!
