Enterprise is not one of the car rental firms I've ever used, though their promise to deliver the car to you rather than have you come for the car is appealing. In the event, the one time I needed such a service (stuck in Beaufort with a busted alternator) the local branch was closed on Sunday and I just ended up staying until my car was fixed. Of course I never get a rental car that's a model I would drive by choice, so it was probably just as well.

The phonebook and google say that there are still several other Enterprise locations in town.

UPDATE 19 October 2012 -- As commenter Matt notes in the comments this location has moved to 1307 Assembly Street a few blocks away.

UPDATE 14 November 2012 -- Here is the new Assembly Street location:

UPDATE 5 May 2018 -- At some point the 1436 Taylor Street building was razed:

  1. What brand of gas station was this? Esso?

  2. I don't know whose gas they sold, but if I'm not mistaken the place was D's Recaps in the early 80's.

  3. We rent from Enterprise on Sumter Highway several times a year. One day I wanted to rent an SUV, but they did not have one available. They went to the Chrysler / Jeep Dealership and bought a new Jeep Cherokee Sport just so I could get what I wanted. I was okay with that.

  4. Right, this was a Dee's Recaps at one time. It was also a succession of cleaners before it was Enterprise.

  5. I noticed last week (and forgot to post an update) that this location actually moved to the 1300 block of Assembly St. They are in the strip of shops under the city parking garage where the military recruiters are. I assume that they have more parking in the garage above than they had on their old lot.

  6. Ah! I see it's at 1307 Assembly -- I'll change the status to moved and add a note. Thanks.
