Bull Market Restaurant & Taverna, 902-C Gervais Street: early July 2010   2 comments

Commenter O'Reilly first mentioned that the Bull Market( in the old Seaboard Station on Gervais street) was closed back on 10 July 2010.

I snapped the two pictures above on 11 July when I went to take a look. At the time, I took the note at face value and concluded that nothing was going on. In retrospect though, as is often the case, the note was rather optimistic.

By the time I got back to take the rest of these pictures on 4 Sept 2010, the place was long gone. You can see that even the lamps flanking the door were taken down.

In the event, I only ate at Bull Market once, probably at least five years ago. I guess the food was OK, but our waitress was a bit of a ditz and we never got any bread at our table. Certainly, I was never inspired to go back. Anyway, I guess it's a bear market now..

  2. It looks as though this location will become a steakhouse called the "Carolina Strip Club." They have a facebook page, but there's nothing on it yet. There's a restaurant in Greer called "Strip Club 104," with a somewhat upscale menu. I don't know whether they have any affiliation, or whether that's just a trend among some start-up steakhouses to use the term 'strip club' in the name.
