Goody's Family Clothing, 10060 Two Notch Road (at Wal-Mart): 2008 11 comments
Wow, this one comes as a surprise. If you've read many of these posts, you'll know I hate to shop for clothes, but Goody's was one of the places in Columbia I knew I could go and find the Arrow shirts I like (they look OK, and I know what size will actually fit and I can buy a bunch without the hassle of trying them on). In fact, as I took these pictures, I was wearing a shirt I had bought there.
The last time I was in there, last summer I believe, they seemed to be doing a brisk business, and with that and their mammoth building, I had thought them to be pretty solid. Now with it empty, it makes me wonder what the real-estate owners can find to fill it up. They may have to subdivide.

Hmm, that makes me look -- ah here it is: The whole chain is in Chapter 11 bankruptcy, though they are trying to reorganize rather than liquidate.

My wife loved that store. Good thing they built a Kohl's here or she would probably have an episode.

The whole chain went under and you probably need to photograph the closed West Columbia store at some point
No telling what will become of the other two but I was out that way a couple of weeks ago and they were working on bringing Joann Fabrics into it...

While the West Columbia location Ted hasn't made it out to hasn't been photographed yet (on US#1 & Dreher Road) is still sitting vacant, I found out this afternoon that the former Goodys mentioned here at Northpointe Commons will have a fully operational JoAnn Fabrics on August 27 (that's the day it's supposed to come online)

While the JoAnn Fabric is still coming along here I suppose (mostly on the inside it seems) the JoAnn Fabric at Landmark square (Garners Ferry Road) will be closing before much longer

ok the JoAnn Fabrics at this site is online now and there will also be a Citi Trends on the right hand side (closest to the other shoppes) before much longer it appears as well

They closed the Harbison branch as well.
