It was after sept 11th 2001. That was the last time I remember gas being less than a dollar.

I remember when gas prices started rising around 1999/2000 one of the WIS reporters made the comment that the "dollar a gallon" days were over and of course we've seen a variety of fluctuations over the course of the intervening years...

Just saw a report that gas hit 99 cents a gallon somewhere in Kentucky. I wonder how long it will take for it to go that low here. The last time I remember it below a dollar was the summer of 1996.
