Apparently the company is still around, but it appears that the Irmo location has closed up shop. Looking at the site, some of the homes are quite nice, though I think you really need a good setting and a big piece of property to make it work -- there's the old story about Abe Lincoln's father moving whenever the neighbors got close enough that he could see their chimney smoke.

Unlike Hall Marine next door, Southland corporate still lists 7521 Broad River Road, Irmo, SC 29063, as one of their locations. What happened behind the Southland office is that they ceased a wood treatment and storage operation. They took down several sheet metal-covered structures that cooked, steamed, or otherwise treated logs. There was supposedly an automall operation that was to take over the land. Those signs seemed to have disappeared over the past year. OBTW, looks like a MarineMax outfit took over Hall Marine. The Hall Marine location on that website is "page not found" vs. Hall Marine saying they closed their Irmo location.
