Monkey Business, 1820 Augusta Highway (Lexington): 2010 12 comments
UPDATE 9 Jan 2011 -- That certainly is a conveniently specific insurance regulation, isn't it?
Monkey Business was an indoor arcade/amusement park off of US-1 in Lexington. I know it was open at the start of 2009, but am not totally sure that it made it into 2010.
The place was inside the largest part of a warehouse-like building (a Cheerleading school is in the smaller part), and had a number of different attractions. There were bouncy castles, jumbo slides, video games, skee-ball, a small carrousel, a snack bar and private rooms for birthday parties. I only went once, but my impression was that all the kids there were having a good time, and it appeared to be doing a good business.

Too funny tonkatoy. My 5 y.o. son went there for a soccer party last year - there was a minature ferris wheel inside, but the highlight for him was the live monkeys.

Oh, man! I HATE monkeys! had one of those godawful wind up cymbal clapping monkeys as a child and I think it rurned me!

Not surprised this place didn't last long, it was probably run out of business by Monkey Joe's when it was built up US 378. MJs is much brighter and welcoming than Monkey Business.

I had heard the Harmon's tree farm people owned it. My kid & my niece & nephew loved the place though.

My son had his 7th birthday party there back in 2009. It was great. The kids had such a good time. It wasn't the plushest of facilities, but the rides were really neat, and were more age appropriate and appealing than Monkey Joe's, to younger school age children.

Oh, wow... I came here in October of 2008 or 2009 for my 4th or 5th birthday party, it seemed huge and amazing. Looking back now, I didn’t really realize that it was in a rusty old warehouse. Regardless, I had fun there. Anyways, Monkey Business and Harmon’s Tree Farm closed in 2011/12, having been run by a couple for many years- the husband died in 2011.
