McDonald's Hamburgers / University Motor Company, 633 South Assembly Street: 2018 (Merged) 3 comments
I noticed the other day that this old McDonald's at the corner of Assembly & Rosewood across from the Fairgrounds is vacant. The last tenant was University Motor Company, which apparently moved in sometime around 2010, and in 2018 merged with Bluff Road Auto Sales with the combined operation at 1400 Bluff Road.

I saw some work trucks parked here last week and now there is a big dumpster sitting in the parking lot, so evidently some work is going to be done to it soon. Not sure the building will last, but it might. I ate here as far back as 1986 or 87 when I came down with a small group to the State Fair in high school.

According to an article from the P&C Columbia, this is to become a new location of NC based Lyon’s General Store.

I ate many meals here. I lived in Olympia from 96-03, at that time there weren't many places nearby.
