Bi-Lo, 6021 Saint Andrews Road: March 2021 2 comments
This closing was announced so long ago that I have several months-old daylight sets of pictures -- which will turn up eventually. I know I have stopped at this store a number of times over the years, and it was fine, though I did not particularly like coming back out onto Saint Andrews Road going left as I think there is no left arrow at Piney Grove.
In the final event, this is another Bi-Lo destined to be come a Food Lion. This State article, which I have probably linked before, has the details.
I do note that their street sign leaves their product line rather open-ended: "Food &".
(Lots of chatter about this, but I think commenter Andrew gets the hat tip for the closing signs going up).
UPDATE 20 May 2021 -- The Food Lion is up and running now:

Today's The State (print edition only, couldn't find it online) had an article stating that this is one of the last Bi-Los to become Food Lion and that is has come online (the other 3 (Edendwood Shopping Center, Parkland Plaza and 4464 Devine Street) have already transitioned to Food Lion as Bi-Lo fades off into the sunset after a 60 year run (as a company)...

The Food & blank has remained blank because it was "Food & Pharmacy" until the pharmacy on this one closed last summer...just like when our Kmarts closed, the Pharmacy closed right at the beginning of the liquidation...same thing happened with the Bi-Lo at Edenwood Shopping Center in Cayce (which is also to become a Food Lion but hasn't featured here yet).
This opened as Bi-Lo #442 on February 27, 2002...I remember it being under construction well. This Bi-Lo relocated from 275 Harbison Blvd. The Harbison store didn't have a pharmacy though this one did..
Around 2013 it was remodeled into what it was the last several years...despite the fact that Bi-Lo was a 'go to' for certain grocery needs of mine it didn't feel the same to me after that for some reason.
The 7830 Garners Ferry Road Bi-Lo had aesthetics similar to when this one first opened and last time I was in there it felt somewhat nostalgic for me remembering all of that...
