Urban Cookhouse, 1072 Lake Murray Boulevard: 27 October 2018 5 comments
I think the concept of Urban Cookhouse, as I understand it, is interesting: Fresh cooked meats done over a charcoal grill with fresh local vegetables and bread as well. I'm a little surprised I don't see a burger on the menu; that would seem be be a natural. At any rate, I have never gotten around to an Urban Cookhouse, either this one in the old Atlanta Bread building on Lake Murray Boulevard, or the other one in Shandon.
I still think this is an attractive building, and hope they find something that sticks.

I wonder if this has anything to do with some of the bad publicity they've had, recently.

I was pretty fond of this restaurant; it was a good place to get a relatively quick and not too expensive bite to eat. Their sandwiches were good, and it was nice to get roasted veggies as a side. Hate to see this one go.

Damn! We liked this place. Only got there a couple of times because we live on the other side of of Lake Murray Dam, but the food and atmosphere were both good.

We ate there once not too long after it opened. If memory serves, the food was fine. The service was fine. The atmosphere was fine. There just wasnt anything super memorable about the place, I dont even 100% remember what i ate. We never got around to going back.
