Crescent Moon, 2361 Augusta Highway: August 2017 5 comments
I was unaware of this Lexington establishment until commenter James R pointed out that it had closed. It's a ways out on the Western outskirts of Lexington where Pisgah Church Road hits US-1.
The State says they were there for four years, which really is not bad for a non-chain restaurant.

I live out near this place and didn't realize it existed until recently. This spot has been several restaurants over the last few years. As I've said -- Lexington is a tough market for restaurants. You need to have pretty good food at decent prices to compete with chains. Be cautious raising your prices -- see Gilligan's on North Lake Dr.

I remember there being an Antonia's in this building at one point and having my birthday dinner there one year...

A new restaurant is apparently opening here soon called "Locos 4 Chicken." The banner on the building indicates the new restuarant will be a Peruvian wood charcoal rotisserie.

Before this space was Crescent Moon, it was another incarnation of Al-Amir for a little while. Andrew is correct, it was a family-run Italian restaurant before Al-Amir. I can't swear the name was Antonia's, but the internet indicates that is correct.

Sad to see this close, but can't say I'm surprised. Last few times I went, there wasn't much of a crowd and that was on a Fri/Sat night. The Shrimp & Grits were yummy!
