This building on Two Notch Road near Alpine has a sad history, as it started as the practice of respected Children's dentist Doctor Harry Sunshine who was tragically killed in a hit and run accident in 2001 as described in this newspaper image.

Since then, it has apparently been a number of medical offices, most lately for Griffin Clinic Of Chiropractic who occupied the space until earlier this year.

I must say that while the building is not very impressive from the front, the back is quite interesting, and looks out over a fairly good view.

  1. Seeing these pictures bring a pang of pain to me.

I was a patient of Dr. Sunshine's from the time I was 8 years old through my entire childhood. Without a doubt the man was the most amazing pediadontist to ever take on the profession and his untimely passing was a blow to the community.

I still talk about my visits to see Dr. Sunshine to this day with my own kids and friends. It's odd to think he had such an impact on my life, but when you meet such a brilliant man and kind soul it truly does leave an imprint on you.

  2. Now that PK mentions it, I remember his passing being on the news under sudden circumstances

A simple search yields this article showing he died in November 2000 and I would have been a 7th grader at the time
