Crafty Crab, 700 Gervais Street Suite C: October 2025 3 comments
Crafty Crab was one of Columbia's influx of crab-themed restaurants over the past several years, and replaced Tin Lizzy's Cantina in this Vista storefont. The recent Google reviews are interesting and share several themes, possibly pointing to the ultimate fate of the place, though I don't see any media articles on the closing.
The strip itself is quite busy: There was too much traffic to park and get a good shot of the place.

Krab Hut, 280 Harbison Boulevard: Late August 2022 1 comment
I ate in this building a number of times when it was Chili's, but not since then. Krab Hut was part of the wave of crab-themed restaurants that has washed over Columbia during the past few years, leaving us, I suspect, a bit over-crabbed. (In fact, the Harbison Ryan's also became a crab eatery). Judging by the Google reviews, I think this place closed at the end of August, and is already setting up to be a Korean hot-pot & barbecue restaurant: Kpot.

Crabby's Cajun, 1115 Assembly Street: December 2021 5 comments
Crabby's was the follow-on operation in this space to Takosushi and apparently closed at the end of the year. As I am not a seafood person, I never stopped by, but this was one of a wave of crab-oriented places that have opened in the area over the last few years. I guess it's possible the wave has crested, or, given the history of this storefront, it may just not be a great location for a restaurant.

Submarine Crab, 2300 Decker Boulevard: June 2020 2 comments
Well, I could be wrong, but it appears to me that despite the banner Submarine Crab, the follow-on in the old Pho Viet, Zesto, Burger King location on Decker is gone. I have driven by there a number of times in the past week or two, and have never seen the place open, so I suspect they have succumbed to the COVID-19 curse, though I suppose the current over-crabbing of Columbia didn't help.
UPDATE 26 August 2020 -- It's official now, the banners are gone, and there's a realty sign:
UPDATE 28 February 2024 -- It's setting up to be a Mexican restaurant. The name is a bit fuzzy, but looks like Metlaltepec:
