Dollar Tree, 3100 Broad River Road: February 2026 2 comments
Dollar Tree moved in here sometime in 2011, a year or two after Eckerd's closed shop.
It's a decent enough location, with stop-light access to Saint Andrews Road & Broad River Road, but the area has struggled in recent years, and the catty-cornered CVS closed last year.
It's a good sized building and still looks to be in reasonable shape, but I don't have high hopes for a new tenant. Perhaps a gym?

Unlike the Dollar Tree fire(s) on Beltline, this one was pretty scary as it happened at 5:30 in the afternoon while the store was still open, and all the staff as well as customers were inside. In the event everyone made it out safely, thank goodness!
The fire sounds odd as it started in an asile and moved into the attic, but at least in the stories I have seen, the fire department has not found an actual cause for it.

As you can see, work has started on remediating the store.

Dollar Tree, 4020 West Beltline Boulevard: 28 September 2024 1 comment
I was driving down Beltline last weekend when I noticed this Dollar Tree boarded up. When I turned around to take a closer look, it was quickly apparent that the place had seen a fire.
In fact it is a bit worse than "a fire". WLTX reports that the place burned on 28 September 2024 and on 17 December 2024.
No cause was given at the time for either blaze, but for the second you kind of have to be very suspicious.
I did not notice any sign of remediation work in progress, so I doubt we see this store re-open, or this building be re-purporsed.
