Bi-Lo, 7830 Garners Ferry Road: 14 February 2021 7 comments
I stopped at this Bi-Lo on Sunday, and while it was rapidly emptying out, there was still a good bit there, and they hadn't started randomly consolidating the shelves. I picked up some long lasting sundries like shampoo, hot sauce & spices at a 15% discount.
According to The Post & Courier, this store is not going to be converted into a Food Lion and there are no current plans for a new tenant in the building.
(Hat tip to commenter Alan, and possibly others -- there has been a lot of talk about Bi-Lo).
UPDATE 13 December 2021: Now a Food Lion:

I'm gonna miss that one. It's just a mile down the road from me and it's a nice short-distance alternative to the Wal-Mart.
I was hoping IGA would move into that space. It'd be a perfect fit for them. Last I heard though, they didn't like the price of the lease.

I may have to run out to this one--the one closer to town is pretty well picked through.

This location didn’t close on 02/14/21 as scheduled. Not sure what is going on, but the “store closing” banner isn’t up. The discount percentages haven’t increased, but the shelves haven’t been restocked. The other stores that closed had increased discounts to 85 to 95% off.

I stopped here again yesterday and the cashier said that the closing date has been moved to April 1, 2021.

I wonder if Food Lion wanted to fast-track the conversion of the Bi-Lo closer to town and they moved all the stock from that store to the one further out.
Last time I was in this Bi-Lo it brought back memories of what the 6021 St. Andrews Road Bi-Lo looked like when it first opened...it was almost nostalgic in a way for me...when 6021 St. Andrews remodeled into what it is now it never felt the same to me after that for some reason (though I am not looking forward to seeing Bi-Lo go as I had some grocery needs Bi-Lo was my 'go to' for)...
