Bangkok Thai-Chinese restaurant has moved across Garners Ferry from its old home in the Southern Salvage plaza to the Wal-Mart outparcel plaza. This is the former site of Larry's Subs and Steve's Subs. It was also the site of Japan Grill about which I need to do a closing.

  1. This has been my favorite take-out restaurant for years. I certainly wish them well in their new location.

  2. WLTX Restaurant Report Card scared me off from this place. Undercooked chicken, raw meat not cooled properly, these type of inspection fails scare me away. And also the fact the only way they would let you get peanut sauce is to order 9 dollar satay appetizer. No peanut chicken stir fry dish, or them being willing to customize a dish, just monopolize on what many want when they eat thai and get an extra 9 dollars.

  3. The several times we've been to the new place, it hasn't been the same staff and definitely not the same cooks making the dishes. Things tasted completely different (not just a little). We'd been getting the Tiger Tear and Tom Ka Gai soup (Tom Kha Gai?) for nearly 20 years, and it was a whole other ballgame getting it from the new location. Different ingredients, everything. Supposedly, the original folks have re-opened the original restaurant (or something near to it) at the original location above. We've been once and it was again very different. We didn't recognize anyone on the staff, and the recipes were changed. Such a shame.

  4. Ditto what Rae said. You get used to a certain flavor and then it changes and you do not return. The original owners had been there since the early 90s so they most likely retired.

  5. Looks like their new site on Garners Ferry is closed and has been replaced by the Sawasdee Thai restaurant.

Looking on the web, this may be a franchise operation as there are others in other states called the same thing.
