{"id":944,"date":"2009-10-28T22:37:13","date_gmt":"2009-10-29T03:37:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/columbiaclosings.com\/wordpress\/?p=944"},"modified":"2021-06-19T15:49:29","modified_gmt":"2021-06-19T19:49:29","slug":"hardees-se-corner-of-blossom-assembly-streets-early-2000s","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/columbiaclosings.com\/wordpress\/?p=944","title":{"rendered":"Hardee's, 550 Assembly Street: Early 2000s"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"..\/pix\/09\/10\/blossom_hardees01.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"..\/pix\/09\/10\/blossom_hardees01_tn.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There was nothing particularly noteworthy about the <i>Hardee's<\/i> which once sat at the corner of Blossom & Assembly Streets, but it's a memory of a somewhat less grandiose scheme of things in that area.<\/p>\n<p>I do remember two things in particular about it:<\/p>\n<p>1) It was the first place I've ever seen ruin a toll-house cookie.  I stopped there once feeling a bit snackish and could not finish the thing.  It was like they cooked it on the same griddle with the burgers or something.  At the time at least, Hardee's <i>could<\/i> do sweet, something they proved with their cinnamon-raisin biscuit, but not, apparently, after 10:30 am..<\/p>\n<p>2) While the restaurant was on the way down, and maybe after it closed, the side of the parking lot facing Assembly street was filled with used cars for sale.<\/p>\n<p>It's not clear to me what they are building, or going to build, there, but it couldn't have worse cookies...<\/p>\n<p><b>UPDATE 19 June 2021<\/b>: Several things.  First, this building has long since been razed, and now the property is <i>Innovation Center.
