You may have had a different mix if you listened to different stations.  Some were for local firms, some for national ones.  I wish I could convey how catchy some of these jingles were, but I don't have any recordings, and I'm sure not going to try to sing them here!<\/p>\n<p>Marion Bunside Dodge:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nMar-i-on is the name to remember,<br \/>\n7201 on the Sumter High-Way!<br \/>\nM-- \"More Service\"<br \/>\nA-- \"Able to Serve You\"<br \/>\nR-- \"Real Value\"<br \/>\nI-- \"something something!\"<br \/>\nO--\"something something!\"<br \/>\nN--\"something something!\"<br \/>\nToday!\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Commercial Office Furniture:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nYour next desk<br \/>\nWil come from C-O-F!\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/columbiaclosings.com\/wordpress\/?p=105\">The Captain's Kitchen<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nCome to The Captain's Kitchen for 'Treasures of the Sea'!\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The whole <i>Carpet Wholesaler's<\/i> series of TV commercials with Nevin Broome and Joe Pinner:  \"Save!  Save!  Save\".  My favorite though was the one where Joe comes upon Nevin who is tied up.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nJoe: What happened Nevin!?<br \/>\nBroome: My competitors tied me up, Joe.  They don't want folks to SAVE!  SAVE! SAVE!<br \/>\nBroome:  Untie me Joe!<br \/>\nJoe:  I don't think so, Nevin (filches cigar from Broomes shirt pocket and walks off set).\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>McDonalds:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nMcDonalds is your kind of place!\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>which we always rendered:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nMcDonald's is your kind of place.<br \/>\nThey steal your parking space!<br \/>\nHamburgers out your nose,<br \/>\nFrench Fries between your toes!<\/p>\n<p>And don't forget those groovy shakes<br \/>\nThey're make from polluted lakes!<br \/>\nMcDonalds is your kind of place.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Burger King:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nHold the pickles, hold the lettuce,<br \/>\nSpecial orders don't upset us!\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Tons O' Toys elf:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nWith tons of toys for girls & boys,<br \/>\nToodly-oop!\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><i>Time For Sounds<\/i> a daytime ETV program which ran while I was in elementary school.  The hostess had a \"magic chalk board\" which was drawn with a music stave and which would play whatever notes she wrote on it.  There was also a semi-animated classical re-working of \"Pop Goes The Weasel\" featuring \"Super Weasel\" which she played several times (or we just saw that episode several times).  The main thing  though was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=738j9FmhseI\">the opening theme<\/a> which though it had no lyrics I always heard as <i>It's really time for sounds, it's really time for sounds!<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Ellison Insurance:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nThe El-is-son, The El-is-son,<br \/>\nInsurance agency, INSURANCE AGENCY!\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/columbiaclosings.com\/wordpress\/?p=209\">Contenential Sound<\/a> girl:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nSounds real good!\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Kaminer Heating & Air (sung in 1940s close harmony, like the Modernaires or Merry Macs):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nPut comfort in your home<br \/>\nThe Kaminer way.<br \/>\nCall Kaminer,<br \/>\n(boom, boom)<br \/>\nRight away!\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Koolies:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nKoo-Koo-Koolie<br \/>\nOrange Koolie<br \/>\nLemon Koolie<br \/>\nKoolie Fruit Punch<br \/>\nKoolie in the morning<br \/>\nKoolie at lunch<br \/>\nNatural fruit flavors<br \/>\nOrange... lemon...
