The Fine Art Exhibition Premiere & Awards Reception was in the Cantey Building<\/i> on the evening of the 10th, and there was a pretty good crowd present.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

My batting average improved this year, and I got both of my entries into the show:<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

I didn't win anything, but I didn't really expect to. I'm happy to note that I saw some photos that I felt were not as good as mine, and a number that I had to admit were better. <\/p>\n

The Gervais Street Bridge<\/i> was a popular photo subject this year, and in fact I had taken two sets there myself, but they didn't come out as well as I had hoped. I also saw a number of shots that I'm sure were HDR<\/a> composites. (One I'm absolutely sure of, and a number of others I was \"pretty sure\" of). I've been playing around with HDR as well, but haven't really gotten it to gel yet.<\/p>\n

There was a buffet, and wine<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

but the produce was not on the menu<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

A surprisingly high percentage of the award recipients were present for the awards presentations<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

after which we milled around for a while and<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

looked at the student art as well<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

and went home :-)<\/p>\n
