I had been to this store numerous times over the years, and it always reminded me strongly of the old <a href=\"http:\/\/columbiaclosings.com\/wordpress\/?p=8432\">Harbison store<\/a> in its feel and layout.  As it turns out, not to worry, much.  Googling once I got home establishes that the store has moved up the road a little ways to take over an old <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/tcdeq\">Party City<\/a>.  Reaction from locals on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/321\/comments\/1rs5gpd\/thoughts_on_the_moved_bn_store_on_192\/\">Reddit<\/a> is a little mixed with some dislike for the new, shared, parking lot compared to this store's dedicated lot, and a layout which makes the cafe less central.<\/p>\n<p>The new store opened on 11 March 2026 as you can read <a href=\"https:\/\/spacecoastdaily.com\/2026\/02\/barnes-noble-to-celebrate-grand-opening-in-west-melbourne-march-11\/\">here<\/a> and in a press release <a href=\"https:\/\/www.barnesandnobleinc.com\/press-release\/barnes-noble-returns-melbourne\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As is mandatory for such cases, the old building is becoming a <i>Spirit Halloween<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/1955+W+New+Haven+Ave+Melbourne,+FL+32904\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/columbiaclosings.com\/pix\/misc\/world_map_icon.png\"><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Getting down to Melbourne this summer, I found a number of places gone, but the Barnes &#038; Noble surprised me.
