In trouble for a while, the chain filed for Chapter 11 in November of 2025, hoping to find a buyer to continue operating the stores.  When none materialized, the company decided it had no choice but to liquidate and cease operations.<\/p>\n<p>You can read about it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aol.com\/news\/longtime-furniture-chain-announces-store-135353891.html?guccounter=1\">here<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wistv.com\/2026\/01\/12\/all-value-city-furniture-locations-close-following-liquidation\/\">here<\/a> as well as the <i>Wikipedia<\/i> link above.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/columbiaclosings.com\/wordpress\/?tag=village-at-sandhill\">Sandhill<\/a> location is interesting, in that it featured here as <a href=\"https:\/\/columbiaclosings.com\/wordpress\/?p=24\">Sofa Express<\/a> in a closing from the site's first couple of month's existence.  Ironicaly, <i>Sofa Express<\/i> also went Chapter 11 and ceased to exist.
