I never went to <i>Blaze<\/i>, but I have been to <i>Mod<\/i>, and I understand that it's a similar experience: You go through a line like you are building a buritto except it's a pizza, and after you have all your toppings they quick-fire it and there you go.<\/p>\n<p>It's a concept that has been going through some tough times as <i>Mod<\/i> went through bankruptcy recently and closed locations, <i>1000 Degress<\/i> never got here, and now all the Midlands <i>Blaze<\/i> locations have shut down.<\/p>\n<p><i>Blaze<\/i> is not the first restaurant to close in this storefront, back in 2013, it was <a href=\"http:\/\/columbiaclosings.com\/wordpress\/?p=8766\">Al Amir<\/a> with the place sitting vacant, I believe, until <i>Blaze<\/i> moved in in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Here is the story in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thestate.com\/news\/local\/article311939601.html\">The State<\/a> & <a href=\"https:\/\/www.postandcourier.com\/free-times\/food\/columbia-sc-blaze-pizza-locations-close\/article_bb7afc3f-24af-43b2-bed4-79f51017fe3d.html\">The Free Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>(Hat tip to commenter Tom)<\/p>\n<p><a href=https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/34.1303974566857,-80.87927372913006\/ target=_blank><img src=http:\/\/columbiaclosings.com\/pix\/misc\/world_map_icon.png><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sometimes it seems as though restaurants go through phases, and for a while the \"build-your-own-pizza\" phase was hot.
