Our go-to was always the <a href=\"http:\/\/columbiaclosings.com\/wordpress\/?p=20\">Two Notch location<\/a> where I had many a plate of spaghetti and hot-fudge cakes.<\/p>\n<p>The chain struggled after dropping the <i>Big Boy<\/i> branding, and dug themselves further into a hole with a disasterous side-trip into the hotel business.  (Does anyone know if they ever owned any of the nearby <a href=\"https:\/\/columbiaclosings.com\/wordpress\/?tag=airport-boulevard\">Airport Boulevard<\/a> motels?).<\/p>\n<p>This building is their original 1970s style and has probably been around at least that long.  The newer stores such as Manning & Aiken have a completely different look.  That store (Aiken) may have actually closed as well, as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.postandcourier.com\/columbia\/business\/shoneys-springdale-closed-restaurant-columbia-sc\/article_91064159-9e5e-4074-8834-a0389091de11.html\">Post & Courier<\/a> story on the closing lists only Myrtle Beach, Sumter, Manning, Hartsville & Florence as the remaining South Carolina locations.<\/p>\n<p>So what next?
