{"id":2256,"date":"2010-06-25T00:11:58","date_gmt":"2010-06-25T05:11:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/columbiaclosings.com\/wordpress\/?p=2256"},"modified":"2022-06-16T23:27:26","modified_gmt":"2022-06-17T03:27:26","slug":"busters-bistro-5143-forest-drive-mid-2000s","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/columbiaclosings.com\/wordpress\/?p=2256","title":{"rendered":"Buster's Bistro, 5143 Forest Drive: mid 2000s"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/columbiaclosings.com\/pix\/10\/04\/housebrand05.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/columbiaclosings.com\/pix\/10\/04\/housebrand05_tn.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"..\/pix\/10\/06\/buster06.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"..\/pix\/10\/06\/buster06_tn.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"..\/pix\/10\/06\/buster07.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"..\/pix\/10\/06\/buster07_tn.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"..\/pix\/10\/06\/buster08.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"..\/pix\/10\/06\/buster08_tn.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I've written about this building before, both in a closing for <a href=\"http:\/\/columbiaclosings.com\/wordpress\/?p=116\">Steak & Ale<\/a> (the original tenant of the whole building) and in one for <a href=\"http:\/\/columbiaclosings.com\/wordpress\/?p=1764\">House Brand<\/a> (a furniture store which used the east side of the building after it was divided).<\/p>\n<p>I see now that since the <i>House Brand<\/i> signage has been off the east side of the building, the previous <i>Buster's Bistro<\/i> sign is again visible.<\/p>\n<p>I don't know much about <i>Buster's<\/i> other than it was the first tenant in the newly subdivided building and that according to several commenters on the <a href=\"http:\/\/columbiaclosings.com\/wordpress\/?p=116\">Steak & Ale<\/a> closing, the chef, Sig Buster, started at <i>Fresh Pastabilities<\/i> in the <i>Forest Park (Piggly WIggly)<\/i> shopping center on the other side of Trenholm, and opened <i>Buster's Bistro<\/i> after closing that.<\/p>\n<p>The place is not listed in the 2008 phonebook, and so would have closed during or before 2007.<\/p>\n<p><b>UPDATE 16 June 2022<\/b>: Adding tags and map icon.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/5143+Forest+Dr,+Columbia,+SC+29206\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/columbiaclosings.com\/pix\/misc\/world_map_icon.png\"><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I've written about this building before, both in a closing for Steak &#038; Ale (the original tenant of the whole building) and in one for House Brand (a furniture store which used the east side of the building after it was divided).
