What wasn't clear to me from the stories (<a href=\" https:\/\/www.thestate.com\/news\/local\/article280768620.html\">The State<\/a> & <a href=\"https:\/\/www.postandcourier.com\/free-times\/music\/new-brookland-tavern-cotton-gin-five-points-columbia-sc\/article_0c368ca8-6ede-11ee-ac58-2f5dc8947a4d.html\">The Free Times<\/a>) was exactly what was to happen to <i>The Cotton Gin<\/i>.  When I went by <a href=\"http:\/\/columbiaclosings.com\/wordpress\/?tag=five-points\">Five Points<\/a> a few weeks ago, it appeared to still be open, and there are recent Google reviews.  I still have not seen anything in the media pinning things down, but judging from their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/cottonginbar\/?hl=en\">Instagram feed<\/a>, it appears that 25 November will be the last day for <i>The Cotton Gin<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/632+Harden+St,+Columbia,+SC+29205\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/columbiaclosings.com\/pix\/misc\/world_map_icon.png\"><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As mentioned in the closing for New Brookland Tavern, that operation will be moving to this famous storefront on Harden Street.
