back in the 80's in need a car inspection sticker. I went by there and asked if they would inspect my car. They said no. So, I never went back again. I'm glad we don't have to do that inspection sticker crap anymore.

I noticed today there's an "Abbott's Auto Care" in a little blue building on Percival (slightly north of Decker). I wonder if it's the same family.

I'm pretty sure this was Mr. Abbots Texaco station. He retired from the army in the early 70's and opened this full service station. He had two sons that worked there on and off - I went to school with his son Jimmy, and his wife worked with my mother in the cafeteria at Forest Lake Elementary. When they rationed gas back in the 70's, this was the only place my Dad could get gas, cause he and Mr. Abbot were buddies.

Definately a Texaco in the 1970s. During that decade Texaco and Esso altered their stations to make them look like houses for some reason.

The red and black of the self service sign screams Texaco... Dont know whether that was the original operation though...
