Payday lenders advertise folks to take a loan to take a "much needed" vacation. That's not wise. There are/were about 20 payday/check/title places on Broad River from River Drive to Piney Grove at one point. That's too much of a bad thing. Is that $15 per $100? That's a horrible interest rate. Overdraft is not necessarily credit, and is free w/ many bank accounts. I've never known anyone who uses their overdraft as a credit card. Late fees on credit cards are generally when you don't make even the minimum payment. Bounced checks come back when you don't have overdraft protection.

boi-dan: Research shows payday advance customers to be middle-income, educated, working families, more than half earning between $25,000 and $50,000 annually, 58% having attended college and one in five having a bachelor's degree.

Reputable payday lenders want customers to use payday advances wisely. The service's goal is to be a solution for those who need low-dollar, short-term credit. A payday loan may not be the best choice in every situation.

But compare the fees of consumers' short-term credit options: $100 payday advance = $15 fee; overdraft protection = $29; late fee on a credit card bill = $37; $100 off-shore internet payday loan = $25 fee; bounced check and NSF/Merchant fee = $55 **Source: http://www.cfsa.net/cost_comparison.html

Check N Go = Bloodsuckers of the poor, predatory lending.............

We'll see what they'll do with the non-anchor stores, I doubt this Wal-Mart will go anywhere unless shoplifting becomes a big problem. I know of a store in Mississippi thats on the brink of closing b/c of this issue. One Wal-Mart in Arkansas has already closed because of associates and customers were "cleaning the shelves."
